Police Say BPKP and Public Accountants Can Audit State Financial Loss

In a judicial review hearing at the Constitutional Court on the Elucidation of Article 603 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) (case 206/PUU-XXIV/2026), the Indonesian National Police (Polri) stated that BPKP, APIP, and public accountants, within their respective authority, are competent to examine and calculate state financial loss. Their findings may serve as investigative material or as evidence assessed by the judges. Polri emphasized that the final determination of the amount of state loss remains under the authority of BPK.

Prosecutors Present Two KAP Experts at Kaur DPRD Fictitious Official Travel Corruption Trial

At the Bengkulu District Court, prosecutors presented two experts from a KAP, Sutrisno and Sukardi Hasan, in an alleged corruption case involving official travel at the Secretariat of the Kaur Regency DPRD. Kaur District Prosecutor's Office Names Former Kaur KPU Secretary as Suspect in Alleged Corruption of 2022 KPU Grant Funds

The Kaur District Prosecutor's Office named the former Secretary of the Kaur Regency KPU, who in 2022 served as both budget user proxy (KPA) and commitment officer (PPK), as a suspect in the alleged corruption of election activity grant funds worth approximately Rp1.07 billion. Investigators found funds used for purposes other than intended, unspent budget balances not returned to the state treasury, and expenditures without supporting evidence. The state loss was reported at approximately Rp200 million.
